E! News noted that the 42-year-old voiced her displeasure with the decision on her SiriusXM radio show.

"This is the thing I have a problem with. Playboy to me…is a classy magazine," she said. "They really captured that innocence of the women… almost like art...there was nothing ever skanky about the photos."

She went on to say that Hugh Hefner worked extremely hard to make the publication what it is today and that she is saddened by the news.

“It breaks my heart that it's the end of an era and in solidarity, I will be wearing my panties at half-mast."

McCarthy has worked with Playboy for many years long after her initial shoot and being named Playmate of the Year in 1993. Most recently she posed for the cover of the mag’s August 2012 issue saying that it was something she wanted to do again before her 40th birthday.

As we previously reported, the decision to stop printing naked photos in the magazine was announced Tuesday.

"Playboy will continue to publish sexy, seductive pictorials of the world's most beautiful women, including its iconic Playmates, all shot by some of today's most renowned photographers," the company said in a statement. "The magazine will also remain committed to its award-winning mix of long-form journalism, interviews and fiction."

Of course this really isn’t a loss for all those who claim they just read it for the articles anyway.
