Tropical Storm Grace moves across Atlantic, weakens

Tropical Storm Grace has moved west across the Atlantic Ocean but has not gained strength. Therefore, it looks that it will turn out to be a non-event and is not a threat to the islands or the mainland.

The National Hurricane Center said that Grace has actually weakened while it moved across the sea.

Weather.com noted that as of Monday morning, the storm was located about 800 miles west off the Republic of Cabo Verde and appeared to be less organized moving along at 17 mph.

The storm did have maximum sustained winds around 45 mph and should weaken even more over the course of the next few days.

At this time there are no coastal flood watches or warnings in effect and storm should become a remnant low or tropical wave by the week’s end.

On Sunday, astronaut Scott Kelly captured some stunning imagery of the storm.

Grace is the seventh named storm of the season. She had been following the same track both Danny and Erika did.
