Nicki Minaj donates $5,000 to Amber Rose’s Slut Walk

Don’t let the name fool you, Amber Rose is organizing a Slut Walk in Los Angeles for a very good cause and Nicki Minaj has donated $5,000 to show her support.

The Slut Walk is a campaign Rose put together to raise awareness and stop sexual injustice, victim blaming, derogatory labeling and gender inequality.

The movement stems from when a Toronto police officer told a group of young women in 2011 that if they want to avoid being sexually assaulted then they “should avoid dressing like sluts.” In response, the Canadian city held a walk of the same name.

Over the last few weeks, Rose has received plenty of donations and is close to her goal of $45,000. Some stars who already donated include Ne-Yo, singer-songwriter Jeffree Star and music executive Sujit Kundu. This week Minaj also contributed to the cause donating $5,000 of her own money.

Rose thanked the “Anaconda” rapper for her generosity via social media.

The event is set for Oct. 3 and will have on-site HIV testing, sexual awareness booths and food and merchandise vendors.
