Rachel Dolezal says she did not ‘mislead’ or ‘deceive’ anyone

Former Spokane, Washington chapter NAACP President Rachel Dolezal has been making the media rounds after she was outed as a white woman by her parents.

In a new interview, Dolezal said that she is no longer confused about who she is.

"It's not something that I can put on and take off anymore," she told Vanity Fair. "Like I said, I've had my years of confusion and wondering who I really (was) and why and how do I live my life and make sense of it all, but I'm not confused about that any longer. I think the world might be -- but I'm not."

The 37-year-old went on to say that she does not feel as though she “misled” or “deceived” anyone and is “sorry” if people feel that way.

Dolezal resigned from her position last month following allegations that she had lied about her race and biography.

As previously reported, Dolezal also did interviews recently with the Today Show and NBC Nightly News and insisted that she is not white and there is no proof about who her biological parents are.
