TV Ratings: 'Shark Tank' solid in Thursday slot, 'Big Bang Theory' hits season low

Despite falling on the night, The Big Bang Theory still was head and shoulders above the rest of the Thursday night competition, while ABC's trial of Shark Tank did well against the competition.

CBS tied in the 18-49 demographic with a 2.4 rating with ABC, but the network won by virtue of having a stronger overall audience with 9.76 million, reports HitFix. The Big Bang Theory dipped to a 4.6 in the demo, which is a season low. The Millers followed with a 2.6 rating. Two and a Half Men was down slightly to a 2.4 demo rating, while Crazy Ones remained steady with a 1.7 in the demo. Elementary ticked up on the night to a 1.7 rating.

ABC came second with a slightly weaker 7.92 million viewers after tying in the demo with CBS. Shark Tank did well on the night in the special slot against the competition, but was still down slightly a 1.6 in the demo from last Friday's episode. Grey's Anatomy was down slightly to a 2.5 demo rating, while Scandal inched up to a 3.0 in the demo.

Averaging 5 million viewers and a 1.4 in the advertiser-important 18-49 demo, Fox came in third, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hell's Kitchen was down to a 1.4 rating, while American Idol remains consistently low on the night with a 1.7 in the demo. Surviving Jack stayed even with last week's episode with a 1.2 rating.

NBC suffered drops from all of its shows and the network averaged a 1.0 in the demo and 2.95 million viewers. Community fell to a series low with a 0.8 demo rating. Parks and Recreation slipped to a 1.0 rating and Parenthood closed out the night down to a 1.1 in the demo.

Reign was the only new show on the CW for the night and took in a .04 in the demo, the same as the network, which also averaged 1.05 million viewers.
