TV Ratings: 'American Idol' hits series low, 'The 100' debuts strong

Survivor was the top program for Wednesday night, but Fox and CBS tied in the demo, even as American Idol fell to a new series low.

CBS narrowly edged out Fox for the victory with a 2.2 in the 18-49 demo and a slightly higher viewership number with 9.91 million tuning in. HitFix reports Survivor averaged a 2.4, while Criminal Minds pulled in a 2.2 in the demo. CSI finished the night winning the 10 p.m. time slot with a 2.0 key rating.

Fox tied with CBS in the demo, but slid to second with 9.66 million viewers. American Idol fell to new series low with a 2.2 in the demo.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox wasn't the only network to see a show drop to a new low as NBC's Revolution dipped to a 1.2 in the 18-49 demo. For the night NBC averaged 5.2 million viewers and a 1.4 in the demo. Law & Order: SVU remained steady with a 1.5 demo rating and Chicago P.D. dipped to a 1.4 in the demo, on the same night it was renewed.

ABC averaged only a 1.1 in the demo and 3.8 million viewers as the network offered mostly repeats for the night. Mixology was new and hit a new low of 1.2, continuing the new show's very low-rated run.

On the CW, The 100 debuted strong with a 0.9 demo rating as lead-in show Arrow averaged a 0.8 in the demo. The network averaged 2.5 million viewers and a 0.8 in the demo.
