Brad Pitt says he’s never been happier in new Esquire interview

Actor Brad Pitt is on the cover of the new issue of Esquire and spoke about his family and the difficult moments in his life. He said that although he doesn’t have a lot of friends, he’s never been happier in his life thanks to his large family with Angelina Jolie.

“I have very few friends,” the World War Z actor told Esquire, reports Just Jared. “I have a handful of close friends and I have my family and I haven’t known life to be any happier. I’m making things. I just haven’t known life to be any happier.”

Pitt, 49, said that he’s always wanted a big family and it’s a dream he’s achieved. He and his fiancee, Angelina Jolie, have six children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. “I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big. I wanted there to be chaos in the house,” he said. “I wanted there to be chaos in the house… there’s constant chatter in our house, whether it’s giggling or screaming or crying or banging. I love it. I love it. I love it. I hate it when they’re gone. I hate it. Maybe it’s nice to be in a hotel room for a day – ‘Oh, nice, I can finally read a paper.’ But then, by the next day, I miss that cacophony, all that life.”

According to The New York Daily News, Pitt said that while he has had some incredible opportunities in his life, there are still mistakes he’s made. He talks about using drugs and how he just barely missed getting his college degree.

“I'd get so far, and then want to do something else,” he explained. “I mean, I'm two credits short of graduating college. Two credits. All I had to do was write a paper. What kind of guy is that? That guy scares me - the guy who always leaves a little on his plate. For a long time I thought I did too much damage - drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter.”

The newest issue of Esquire is out on May 31, while World War Z hits theaters on June 21.
