Derek Hough will not return for 'Dancing With The Stars,' picks Rockettes show instead

Derek Hough will not be putting on his dancing shoes for Dancing With The Stars for the 20th season of the hit show. Instead, he will be starring in a Harvey Weinstein production for seven weeks beginning on March 7.

According to Deadline, he will star opposite Nashville’s Laura Benanti for New York Spring Spectacular, which will be held at Radio City Music Hall.

The story centers on a man who is given the promise of receiving an eternal reward for his ability to help a tour guide for New York after he is in danger of losing his job when the character played by Benanti announces her intentions to take the tour company over for virtual means.

Us Magazine reported other characters will be voiced by talents such as Whoopi Goldberg and Bella Thorne.

People also reported that Hough said, “Performing at Radio City Music Hall in a show that celebrates everything that is beloved about New York City is a dream. I can’t wait to show fans this production.”

Hough’s show will run until May 3.
