Blizzard postpones jury selection in Boston bomber's trial

The jury selection phase of Boston bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s trial has reached another delay to an expected blizzard.

According to the Associated Press, Judge George O’Toole Jr. that even before the storm possibility, jury selection was running slow, but that he did say “We’re making good progress.”

However, due to the fact that a blizzard is on its way and will most likely drop at least 2 to 3 feet of snow in Boston, there will be no one called for jury selection on Tuesday.

The Miami-Herald had previously reported that the jury selection process had slowed down due to the difficulty faced in finding “death qualified” jurors, meaning ones who would be able to give a death penalty sentence, but wouldn’t be overly eager on the issue.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev faces charges stemming from the April 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed three and left over 260 people injured.

His lawyers had previously tried to have the jury selection process suspended due to the recent terror attacks in France.
