Justin Bieber has escaped hard time in yet another court case. The 20-year-old singer pleaded out of jail time stemming from a January DUI and reckless driving charge in Miami.
According to The Associated Press, charges were brought against the "Baby" singer seven months ago when he was pulled over during what was reported to be an illegal drag race. Although Bieber's blood-alcohol level was found to be below the legal limit after a breathalyzer, marijuana and Xanax were found in his system after a urine test. According to Rolling Stone, Bieber was also charged with driving without a valid license but after proving that he did have one, those charges were dropped.
The AP reports that to avoid jail time, Bieber will plead guilty to the charges, make a $50,000 charitable donation to a local children's organization (which he has already made, according to the AP), complete an anger management course and pay a $500 fine. The Miami New Times also reports that Bieber will have to appear in a series of videos about the consequences of drunk driving.
Bieber was not at the hearing where the terms of his plea deal were addressed.
This is only one of the many legal troubles that Justin Bieber has and will face this year. Last
