ABC's new singing competition Rising Star appears to have been outdone in its debut on Sunday by NBC's America's Got Talent.
NBC topped the night with a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.35 million viewers. An American Ninja Warrior repeat started the night off with a 1.0 in the demo, reports HitFix. America's Got Talent debuted out in its new time slot with a 2.1 rating in the demo, which was a weaker showing that last Tuesday's episode, which snagged a 2.6 rating.
ABC was right behind with a 1.3 rating and 4.27 million viewers. A new episode of Wipeout averaged a 0.8 rating in the demo. The alphabet network was likely hoping for higher numbers when a final tally came in, but Rising Star's live format wasn't enough to draw in all that many interested viewers.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The show averaged a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5 million viewers. Seeking some sort of optimistic news, ABC noted that their Rising Star app had been downloaded more than 1 million times.
Fox was the only other network to air any new episodes, managing to averaged a 0.9 demo rating and 1.88 million viewers. The cancelled Enlisted finished its series run with a whimper of a 0.3 rating in the demo.
