Frances Bean Cobain chastises Lana Del Rey

Frances Bean Cobain is not pleased with Lana Del Rey’s views on death.

In a recent interview with The Guardian to promote her newly released album Ultraviolence, Lana Del Rey proclaimed that she wished she was dead already. The comments came after the interviewer brought up the topic of fallen musicians Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse. After a brief back and forth with the interviewer, Del Rey explained,
“I do! I don't want to have to keep doing this…Everything. That's just how I feel. If it wasn't that way, then I wouldn't say it. I would be scared if I knew [death] was coming, but …"

Yesterday, Frances Bean Cobain took to Twitter to admonish Del Rey for romanticizing the death of musicians in a multiple tweet speech that attracted the attention of other twitter users.

Frances Bean said that she believed that Lana was “too talented to waste it away.” After Lana’s supporters came to her defense and accused Frances Bean of attacking her, Frances Bean posted a final tweet saying, “I'm not attacking anyone. I have no animosity towards Lana, I was just trying to put things in perspective from personal experience.”
Frances Bean’s father Kurt Cobain, lead singer of the band Nirvana, committed suicide in 1994 when she was two-years-old. She mentioned her late father in one of her tweets, saying, “I'll never know my father because he died young & it becomes a desirable feat because ppl(sic) like u(sic) think it's ‘cool’.”

On Friday, before Frances Bean posted her message, Lana Del Rey apologized for her statements via twitter saying that the interviewer asked “leading questions about death” and was “masked as a fan, but was hiding sinister ambitions and angles.” According to Rolling Stone, the tweets from Lana Del Rey have since been deleted.
